What's the booking and payment process?

The first step is to schedule a free consultation where we’ll talk through your goals, challenges, and decide which package is the best fit for your needs. Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll schedule your organizing sessions and I’ll send over the TidyBird contract.

To secure your spot, full payment for your selected package is typically required at the time of booking. This confirms your commitment and allows me to reserve time just for you.

That said, I understand that everyone’s situation is different. If you need a payment plan, I’m happy to work with you to find an arrangement that works. Just let me know during your consultation.

My aim is always to make the process smooth, flexible, and transparent. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

How long will my project take?

Each project is unique, and time required for completion can vary significantly based on several factors. This includes your specific goals, the quantity of items involved, the time taken to make decisions, the initial level of organization, potential distractions during our sessions, and whether you choose to complete homework in-between. I’ll be better able to provide a more accurate estimate after our initial session.

What can I do to prepare for my first session?

The best thing you can do is to think deeply about why you want to be organized and how you will feel in your newly tidied space. What are goals that you’ve put aside? What are you excited to do or experience once clutter isn’t in your way?

It’s best not to clean up your space before I come; your piles will inform my process. It also helps to have boxes or garbage bags for temporary storage or donations. If you are choosing to tidy clothes, you can clean your laundry so clothing is ready to be sorted.

I specialize in the KonMari method, popularized by Marie Kondo, which focuses on keeping items that ‘spark joy’ in your life and letting go of the rest. While you can explore her method further through her Netflix show or books, please don’t feel pressured to do so.

Do I need to buy anything before we start?

No, I don’t recommend it. After all, my goal is to help you minimize your belongings. Typically, clients already have what they need in their homes, and I aim to assist you in the most straightforward way possible. As we progress, we will use temporary storage solutions, and if we find that your space could benefit from specific tools or if you’re interested in enhancing the aesthetics, I’ll be more than happy to offer recommendations.

How will I know if it sparks joy?

To determine if an item sparks joy, you’ll hold each item and pay attention to your emotional response. You might feel a positive, negative, or neutral emotion. If you ever find yourself uncertain or facing difficulty in making a decision, don’t worry—I’ll be right there to provide guidance and support throughout the process. With practice, you’ll become more adept at recognizing what truly brings joy into your life. I’m here to help you every step of the way, and I promise, you’ll get the hang of it.

How often do we have sessions?

The ideal approach is to complete the tidying process all at once with 3-5 sessions per week for maximum momentum. However, I understand scheduling constraints, so I recommend at least two sessions per month minimum. It’s important to keep progress steady!

What happens if I need to reschedule an appointment?

I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and you may need to reschedule or cancel our appointment. To ensure efficient scheduling and fairness to all clients, I kindly request that you provide a minimum of 48 hours’ notice in advance of your scheduled sessions. This allows for proper planning and adjustments, and your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

How do I pay for my organizing package?

Once you’ve selected your package and we’ve scheduled your sessions, full payment is due prior to the first session to reserve your spot.

I accept the following payment methods: cash, check, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App, and Zelle. Just let me know your preferred method, and I’ll send over the details you need.

My goal is to keep things easy, flexible, and clear—if you have any questions or need a payment plan, I’m happy to work with you!

How far do you travel for tidying?

I serve clients in Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas year-round. I also travel often to California to work with long-distance clients.

For established clients, I offer virtual maintenance sessions to help you stay on track between in-person visits.
